If you liked Midsomer Murders, try
BingeNext's take
If you enjoy classic British crime dramas with a steady pace and a strong focus on character, Midsomer Murders is a great pick. The show follows a veteran detective and his younger partner as they investigate violent crimes in a seemingly quiet English community, where nothing is quite as peaceful as it looks. With 25 seasons and 144 episodes, each running about 90 minutes, it’s perfect for those who like to settle in for a longer mystery that unfolds thoughtfully. The cast, including John Nettles and Neil Dudgeon, brings a calm yet determined energy to the cases, making it feel like you’re right there solving the puzzles alongside them. If you’ve enjoyed Agatha Christie’s Poirot or Vera, this series offers a similar mix of drama and mystery with a cozy, rural setting that’s both charming and a bit unsettling. It’s ideal for viewers who appreciate a methodical approach to crime-solving without too much rush or flash.
