Movies Like Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home is the Marvel movie where nostalgia becomes the actual plot. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield show up and the entire theater loses it. It's crowd-pleasing at its most effective, a three-hour superhero movie that justifies the runtime by understanding what people love about the web-slinger. If you want more massive superhero blockbusters built on multiverse concepts and returning characters, here's the list.
These are the movies that understand that spectacle needs character underneath or it's just noise.
More MCU Spider-Man
Spider-Man: Homecoming is Tom Holland's introduction and Jon Watts setting the tone. Smaller and charming.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is the follow-up. Jake Gyllenhaal and the Multiverse setup.
For the multiverse concept
Everything Everywhere All at Once is the Daniels doing multiverse with actual emotion. Three hours and you feel everything.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the animated version. Miles Morales and parallel universes and perfect filmmaking.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the sequel. Even more visually insane.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is Sam Raimi and Benedict Cumberbatch. Horror mixed with superhero.
For the returning characters
Avengers: Endgame is everyone showing up to fight Thanos. Epic and bloated but it works.
Avengers: Infinity War is the setup. Better than Endgame actually.
The Flash is Barry Allen jumping universes and meeting past versions of himself. Michael Keaton as Batman.
For the team-up energy
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is James Gunn and a found family in space. Better than the first one.
Guardians of the Galaxy is still great. The template for how to do ensemble superhero.
Thor: Ragnarok is Taika Waititi and Jeff Goldblum. Funny and colorful and actually commits to its tone.
For the massive spectacle
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is Ryan Coogler and grief and spectacle. The best MCU movie period.
Black Panther is the first one. Game-changing.
Eternals is Chloe Zhao doing MCU. Weird and beautiful and people hated it but it's interesting.
For the nostalgia play
Deadpool is Ryan Reynolds breaking the fourth wall and referencing everything. Self-aware superhero comedy.
Deadpool and Wolverine is Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine. The MCU finally doing the R-rated version.
Shang-Chi is Tony Leung and martial arts and mythology. Underrated entry.
For the emotional core
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the political thriller superhero movie. Actually smart.
Logan is Hugh Jackman's goodbye to Wolverine. Sad and violent and real.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is about being haunted by your father. Actually has stakes.
