BingeNext's take

If you’re into movies that mix drama and comedy with a wild, larger-than-life feel, Babylon is a great pick. Set during Hollywood’s chaotic shift from silent films to talkies in the late 1920s, it follows several characters caught up in a world of big dreams and even bigger excesses. The cast, including Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, brings a lot of energy to this long, 189-minute ride that’s as messy and loud as the era it portrays. Watching it feels like stepping into a whirlwind of glamour, ambition, and the darker side of fame, perfect for anyone who loves stories about the highs and lows of showbiz. If you’ve enjoyed films like Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood or Sunset Boulevard, Babylon offers a similar vibe with its mix of outrageous moments and sharp drama.

Synopsis

A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, tracing the rise and fall of multiple characters in an era of unbridled decadence and depravity during Hollywood's transition from silent films to sound films in the late 1920s.
